Dear Concerned Parent,
Thank you for your interest in the safety of Balitono’s Works of Ahhh...® Wooden Painting Kits. We understand your concern, especially in light of the recent recalls due to lead content in children’s toys. More broadly, products that are made in China have been called into question. Please be reassured that we at Balitono have taken safety and environmental issues very seriously since our inception over 15 years ago.
Our wooden craft kits have been thoroughly tested at an accredited testing lab. The paints in our traditional Wooden Painting Kits are certified Non-Toxic. The toy safety tests, performed by Bureau Veritas on our kits, examine the products for unsafe substances according to federal safety standards. Our Wooden Painting Kits come from factories that we have been doing business with for many years, and we work together to ensure the highest quality for our products.
The toy industry strives continuously to strengthen our testing and inspection procedures and to ensure safe toys. While no one likes to see recalls, the industry’s ability to identify problems and recall products is evidence that the monitoring mechanism is working.
It is also important to note that the recent recalls are product, brand, AND company specific and are not reflective of the fundamental safety of many other toys in toy stores. For any questions specifically related to these recalls or for more information about general toy safety regulations, please see the Toy Industry Association web site at http://www.toy-tia.org
From an environmental perspective, we would also like to remind you of our ongoing support of The National Arbor Day Foundation®. Thanks to your purchases of our kits over the years, you have helped to contribute to the planting of over ten thousand trees.
Again, thank you for your concern; we surely hope that you will continue to enjoy the creative, keepsake and heirloom benefits of our beloved Works of Ahhh...® Wooden Painting Kits.
Sincerely,
Balitono Crafters
